Using Social Media to Sell

Some in sales are not sure how to use social media to attract business. There’s a lot of fear. Questions and thoughts include: What do I say? I’ve got nothing original to post. I’m not a great writer. What if it isn’t good. I want to, but I don’t know how. I don’t like a lot of what I see. And so on…

These limiting beliefs fail to recognize a few things.

  1. There is nothing new under the son – including social posts. What’s the solution? Write about the problem you solve for your customers. Write about it from every angle. Be the expert in your space.
  2. There are indeed a lot of low quality social media posts – you’ll have some too. Here’s the good news: statistically, when you weigh this against the global population, you have 0% reach. So don’t worry about it and focus on those in your tribe that you can help. Thank you Seth Godin.
  3. There is no shortage of experts who can help you execute a well-planned social media strategy. Start with Justin Welsh and follow those who you see doing it well.

“But I don’t have the time!”

Is it time or fear?

Is it time or priority?

Being honest would be a great start.

I hope this helps.

People need your help.

Speak up.
