“Ugh…I hate sales!”
You hate sales?
“Yes – the manipulation, the tactics – it feels sleazy!”
Mmm, I hear you…that certainly doesn’t feel good.
Let me ask you this – you’re a stay-at-home mom, right?
“Yes – I love it. It’s always been my dream.”
If you met another mom who was struggling with say, sleepless nights, getting pulled in a million directions, feeling stressed & overwhelmed…could you help?
“Absolutely!”
What would you do first…?
“Well….first I’d want to make sure I understand what’s happening at home – does she have help, how many kids, is she getting any time to recharge, what are her relationships like…etc.”
What else?
“I’d be careful not to make her feel judged – I’d have a lot of empathy – I’ve BEEN there?”
Then what?
“I’d see if she was open to exploring some ideas that might get her some immediate relief, but also lay out some long term goals so that she can move from stress to joy.”
Anything else?
“Sure – I’d be there as a coach to assist and guide her.”
Cool.
Is it fair to say then that you could hang up a shingle up right now that says, “I help moms move from stress to joy,” or is that an overstatement?
“Not at all – I could totally do that!”
Good – forget about selling or sales…and all the other sales tactics that are so off-putting. Instead, use your gifts and experience and go help moms. Does that sound doable or am I way out in left field?
“No! That’s totally doable!”
